VOL Clubs
Lego Club
Lego Club is for LEGO lovers and provides a unique opportunity for ALL students (K – 12) to engage in creative play. Led by an instructor this club includes a variety of free build projects and LEGO kits to inspire challenge, fun group activities, and free play. Through Lego, students explore the possibilities of creativity, problem solving and challenge-based engineering activities while having fun! Students can choose to work independently or with a partner or group to design and create their Lego inventions. Every Lego Club day has a theme, and students are encouraged to build a creation based on that theme. (Note: If they want to ignore the theme and do their own thing, that's fine, too. We support creativity!).

NHS/NJHS
The National Honor Society membership is by invitation only and has been the true mark of student achievement for over 100 years, but it goes far beyond a report card. By empowering, championing, and recognizing well-rounded students, NHS provides schools with a values-based framework to elevate a culture of scholarship, service, leadership, and character.

STEAM
STEAM (or STEM + Art) activities for ALL levels (K – 12) offers in-person and/or live online activities including an artistic or creative element, in addition to one or more of the traditional STEM subjects. This activity is led and conducted by interested individuals, who engage in out-of-routine activities in a relatively informal setting. If students come in person to this exciting hands-on lab, we will supply the materials, or you can watch and participate at home with supplies of your own. Please be sure to register to attend.

Robotics Club
FIRST LEGO League introduces science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) to children in grades 2-8 through fun, exciting hands-on learning. Participants gain real-world problem-solving experiences through a guided, global robotics program, helping today's students and teachers build a better future together. The students work out a solution to a problem related to the theme (changes every year) and then meet for regional, national and international tournaments to compete, share their knowledge, compare ideas, and display their robots.
Meeting Days: every other Tuesday
Times: 4-6p
Competitions: TBA
Robot Wars Competition Day
October 12 @ Jackie Robinson Stadium from 9am-1pm
In this club, students will work in groups to build a robot, learn to drive/control the robot, and add attachments to make it more resilient in a brawl against others. Just like the tv show Battle Bots, students will compete against other teams within Volusia County to see which robot will take the trophy home.
