3.3 Elementary Kindergarten Courses

What can I expect?

This is a virtual education program.  Elementary students can expect to spend about 75% of their time on computer-based activities and the remainder will be spent putting those learned skills into action with hands-on activities.  Students will be expected to submit assignments in their own handwriting.  Families must be able to print, scan, and upload completed assignments into the learning platform.

Volusia Online Learning is a franchise of Florida Virtual.  All elementary courses are offered in the FLVS platform.  These courses are aligned to state standards and taught by certified Volusia County Schools' teachers.  During live lessons (class time), your child will be able to meet with classmates, participate in activities, and build relationships with their teachers and peers.

Assignments - Uploads REQUIRED

All FLVS courses consist of online lessons followed by assignments that must be completed in order for the student to receive credit. The assignment formats range from multiple choice auto-graded quizzes to printable worksheets, to audio and/or video recordings. Some assignment submissions will require families to photograph or scan and upload documents, video, and audio recordings for grading.

Materials

Students are expected to have typical school supplies such as: paper, pencils, crayons, markers, scissors, glue, whiteboard with dry erase markers, etc. As a courtesy, VOL will provide our full time elementary students with the corresponding printables that will be required for upload upon completion of each online lesson.
