Home Education

Join the Volusia Online Learning (VOL) community of homeschoolers. We provide kindergarten through twelfth grade homeschool students a variety of flexible options. Create or complement your home education curriculum with a range of courses and plan your own schedule with support from our certified teachers and counselors. Homeschool students can choose from many courses that offer instruction from dedicated teachers in core subjects, electives, and honors at no cost.

For VOL homeschoolers, parents are in charge of their students’ home education program, which must comply with Florida Home Education statutes, including annual evaluation requirements (Florida Statute 1002.41).

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: When can homeschool students start enrolling?

Any time!

Q: If we are already a homeschool family through the district, can we still pick and choose what courses we want to take? Do you have a flex program?

Yes, we call it "part-time virtual" as a home education student.

Q: I homeschool my kids, but am wondering if it is possible to just register a child in math and ELA and continue doing the other courses on our own?

Q: Do you have to do an EOC if you are a registered homeschool student?

Yes, if the student would want to return to an accredited school to receive a diploma. Home Education students must complete the last seven courses at an accredited school and Volusia Online Learning qualifies as one of these.
